Kottakkal Valiya Sahacharadi Tailam is a medicated herbal ayurvedic formulation mainly used in vata disorders. It mainly treats disorders associated with pain and stiffness of joints and muscles and convulsions. It also does the strengthening of muscle tissues. The main drug is Sahachara which is a potent drug with vatahara properties.

It also possesses antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-diabetic, anticancer, and hepatoprotective actions. It is beneficial in conditions like sciatica, lumbar spondylosis, parkinsonism, muscle wastage, leucorrhea, yoni rogas, etc. It treats numbness, pain, and tingling sensation in limbs, muscles, and joints.

It is prepared with Tila tailam as a base and medicinal drugs are boiled and filtered. It contains drugs like Sahachara, Bilva, Agnimantha, Shyonaka, Gokshura, Brihati, Kantakari, Gambhari, Shatavari, etc. which act as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antimicrobial agent, hence can be used in arthritis-like conditions and also beneficial in neurologic ailments especially those affecting lower limbs.
